Waverley Gardens, constructed in 2009, is a 66 apartment sheltered housing scheme, a mixture of 1 and 2 bed apartments, in the Bishopsworth area of Bristol; owned and operated by Brunelcare. The Redhouse II project directly extended the main building to provide an additional 62 apartments on adjacent land; previously redundant Bristol City Council offices off Heggard Close.

New heating systems, incorporated high-efficiency modulating gas fired condensing boilers and BMS controls; serving underfloor heating coils to all heated spaces in the new extension.

A comprehensive building management system [BMS] was installed, as an extension of the existing mechanical controls in the existing Waverley Gardens plantroom, to serve the new parts of the building and provide sub-metering.

LED lighting and DALI controls installed throughout the communal areas, replicating retro-fit luminaires and controls systems installed as part of refurbishment works within the existing buildings, provide a welcoming environment while maintaining a homely feel.

Solar panels have beeninstalled on suitable roof areas of the new existing building, to reduce the buildings CO2 emissions by a further 20% in order to achieve compliance with Bristol City Council’s planning policy.
